It is estimated that 1 in 4 children have vision problems that interfere with reading and learning. As a parent, what are some of the symptoms you should look for?
1. Headaches.
Especially during or soon after reading or doing homework
2. Closes one eye when reading
3. Red, sore, or irritated eyes
Especially during or after reading or doing homework.
4. Sleepy after reading or doing homework
5. Slow reader/skips words or lines
Other symptoms include: double vision; words run together or move on the page when reading; dizziness/nausea with reading or homework; behind grade level in reading (when other visual symptoms present).
